ARSENAL NEWS: WENGER MAKES DECISION ON HIS FUTURE
Saturday’s 3-1 Premier League defeat to West Bromwich Albion has hurt Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger to the point of deciding on his future.
The 67-year-old Frenchman has revealed he has finally made a decision on his future, and he will make an announcement to the football world very soon.
“No. And he said that the decision would not be announced during the international break,” Wenger said when asked at the Hawthorns if he had decided his Arsenal future.
“Don’t worry, I know what I will do in my future. You will soon know. Very soon. You will see. Today, I don’t necessarily worry about that. I know what I do.
“We are in a unique bad patch that we never had in 20 years, we lose game after game at the moment and for me that is much more important than my future.
“We will have a big fight, I agree, for the Champions League and it will be very difficult now.
“Anyway, there is no other way than fighting and doing it until the last day of the season and then if it is not good enough we have to take the consequences. One day, if we don’t do it (get in top four) people will enjoy it again.
West Brom defeat was Arsenal’s seventh in all competitions as they now face a fight to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
“It was a typical Premier League game nowadays where there is a team with a lot of the ball and a team who defends very well and plays on the counter-attack and set-pieces,” he added.
“We take all responsibility, it’s always a disappointment when you lose a game like that. We have all to take responsibility and to prepare for our next game.
“It’s very worrying because we are not used to that. Overall, I think we have a hell of a task to fight back but we need to regroup and focus on the games coming up because we have many big games.
“Even though it is a disappointing result, everybody goes away now (for the international break) to recover and prepare well.”
Wenger’s future has been subject of much speculation, with the fan base at the Emirates now deeply divided on the iconic manager who has been in charge of the north London club for over 20 years.
Nice one
